The Road to Leadership Starts Within
As a nurse, I was trained to assess, diagnose, and implement what was necessary to heal others.
As a business owner, I learned how to build businesses, serve clients, and scale services—but also struggled with things such as imposter syndrome, burnout, resentment, and fear of visibility. What often gets labeled as a “business problem” is, in truth, an inner personal leadership issue.
Leadership is not just a role you step into; it’s a reflection of who you are becoming. Before strategies work, systems scale, or revenue stabilizes, the leader must be well grounded. Healing yourself is not separate from business success; it is the foundation of it.
Unhealed leaders tend to:
Undercharge and overgive
Avoid boundaries in the name of service
Fear being seen, heard, or criticized
Confuse self-sacrifice with purpose
Stay stuck in cycles of exhaustion and self-doubt
True leadership begins when you stop outsourcing your worth to outcomes and start doing the internal work that aligns with your identity, values, and calling. Personal and professional development is a spiritual journey because it requires transformation, not just information. Every level of growth asks you to release an old version of yourself—old beliefs, old survival patterns, and old definitions of success. For entrepreneurs, this journey is especially sacred.
We often discover who we are in the process of building a business because we must confront who we are—and who we are not—during the construction phase of that business.
In this year’s blog articles, we will explore and overcome the inner vulnerabilities that often hold us back, both personally and professionally.
